Strange Squeal Over 3k RPM/Heavy Accel

I have an 86 325es with the stock eta motor other than a chip. Earlier this summer I changed the timing and other belts but am now running into a problem. Under heavy acceleration (everything but 1st gear) over 3k rpm there is a squeal that occurs. Under normal acceleration it doesn't appear, which is weird. I have checked the tightness of the belts and they all appear to be OK. Is there something else I may be missing or are the belts just not tight enough?

Maybe your fan clutch is stuck in the engaged position causing the belt to slip and squeal? Does your engine sound like a turbine at higher rpm's and feel like it has lost some power?

usually a squeal is a bad belt, loose belt, overtightened belt or bad pulley. could also be power steering causing havoc. is your steering normal? a bad pump seizing up would cause belt squeal.

no noticeable loss in power and no changes in steering. Ill double check the belts and see whats what.
