    M20 Newb (Hoses)

    Hi.
Can someone tell me where this hose leads to, and what it carries (coolant, oil)?
This is not my picture nor my engine. I simply stole it from Google Images ;).
However I did buy the eBay red hose set, but it didn't come with this specific hose.
    Thanks in advance.
(2nd post, idk what happened to my first)

To answer the second part of your question, it carries air. The air is oily since it is coming from the cylinder head though, so it will get gunked up over time.

it carries air mixed with oil, fuel and water vapors that leaks past rings

Thank you guys for the responses. Highly appreciated.
So looking over my ICV computer flange thing, I see that there are some access points (3) that are hose-less. One in particular I cannot seem to find a hose for (Pic 5). As always, thanks in advance.

PICTURE 1: The diagram that I was originally trying to emulate had a bit of a different intake boot, but I guess it was pre-facelift or something? idk

PICTURE 2: Managed to find the original, correct hose that goes from valve cover to ICV. I'm trying to jam it in without taking the intake manifolds off... wish me luck.

PICTURE 3: Just a zoomed-out picture of the ICV access point.

PICTURE 4: Zoomed-in picture of pic-3. And I see that there is an access point to the left of the bigger one. It is angled to the ground. Does a hose attach there? Because I can't seem to find one.

PICTURE 5: This is under the ICV. I found a loose hose, and I'm guessing I have to connect it the the access point that I circled, right?

that's one of the throttle body heater pipes there should be another closeby you dont need it in warm climates. the pipe poking out from between them is the one that hose from VC comes to in first post

              Thanks for the reply digger.
So I finally got the VC hose connected to the ICV. It was unexpectedly difficult, and the hose ended up with a big crease so idk how that's gonna affect the flow of oil/air...
I think I just have one more hose left, and this one seems to be running into the block itself, but I am not totally sure. And I am not sure where it connects to. There is another access point on the ICV but I think that was the one that you previously mentioned, that doesn't require a connection.
              Thanks.

the VC hose doesnt connect to the ICV , it connects the the throttle body (pre butterfly)

the ICV hoes connects the rubber boot and the throttle body (post butterfly)

the green thing might be the nipple for the charcoal canister

Got it, thanks! I am all hose-ed up and hopefully won't get any vacuum leaks.
Aaaanndd sadly when I went to start it, now I am faced with the classic "cranks but won't start" dilemma. Battery is good, sparks are new, no relays touched, gas in tank. Didn't hear the fuel pump hum so it's probably that. Smacking the tank with a hammer didn't work so I guess I got some fuel pump hw to do...
