    5 speed swap wiring help

Ok, I have read almost every post concerning the wiring diagram for the 5 speed swap and I am still confused.

I have a 1987 325e (build 9/86) With out airbags or cruise control - I have tried to locate all the wiring concerning the swap and was only able to understand and find the cable on the shifter section of the car which connects to the reverse cable from the transmission. I have not removed or modified anything till I can understand what i have to disconnect. I am trying to go the plug and play option if it available for my configuration.

This is my current setup under the steering column - I noticed two connector not attached to anything and I am trying to figure out what cable to connect. I did removed the stock break peddle and installed the clutch peddle and found the break peddle sensor connector. But I am wondering will I also have the cable and connector that attaches to the clutch peddle. ( Realoem show this item grayed out for my vin) Is this even necessary and what does it do?

this picture is for the wiring connector located above the steering column. Do I need to connect anything to this or remove anything from this ?

The FAQ/DIY section is for staff-approved instructional posts only. Please do not ask questions there. If you don't know where to ask your question, post it in General Technical and we'll move it to the appropriate subforum if necessary. Thanks in advance.

There's a black/yellow wire that creates a loop for the neutral starter lockout. All cars are wired for manual, BMW added a loop to automatics. If you unplug that wire from the auto harness that goes to the shift area and plug it into the spot on the ignition where it's supposed to go when the car is a manual and everything will work properly. A lot of people jump the wires under the shifter, but if you do that and the neutral lockout relay goes bad, you will be chasing your tail for a no start condition.

EDIT: In fact the very write up was in the section you posted :P

Hey, So i had time to go over my wiring and the only cable that relates to my car are the black wire with yellow stripe attached to another black wire with yellow stripe under the steering column that are by themself - I also found the black cable that is connected to the wiring plug underneath to the left of the steering column.

So do I remove one of the Black wire with yellow stripe and attach it to where the black cable is connected to the wiring plug underneath to the left of the steering column. Then connect the reverse light cable to the plug on the shifter console side ?
