    '89 325ix Zinno Sedan 5spd

    ***SOLD***

    General:
    1989 BMW e30 325ix
    5 Speed Manual
    Sedan/4dr
    Zinno Red/Black Interior
    200k miles ESTIMATED
    VT Inspection good through December

    Exterior:
This is a VT car and has seen several winters. It's been my daily car for the past 2 years and the PO was also in VT. There is rust in usual spots (license plate lights, rear fenders, under doors, etc.), however I have replaced the hood (old one was dented), trunk lid, front valence, all four doors, and both front fenders with clean panels from a Zinno donor car. This is why the car doesn't have the ix flares installed, but they will be provided in the sale. The car is pictured with 14" basketweaves but will be sold with 15" ix weaves with decent winter tires (~60-70% tread left), and a set of 17" Konig GTR alloys with junk summer tires.

    Interior:
Black vinyl comfort interior, condition 9/10. The back seat has the ski pass with the ski pass bag attachment. Front seats are heated and work. Mtech 1 steering wheel, BavAuto metal shift knob with unknown brand short shifter. Alpine radio, antenna doesn't go up but radio sounds fine on most stations. Dash has a few cracks. Has rubber front mats, carpet rear mats. Nice black rear parcel shelf and good black headliner. Manual crank sunroof. Rear windows need to be looked at for functionality, they go down fine but would not go back up with the buttons (I had to hotwire them to go back up) so I just have them unplugged at the switches right now (didn't look further into it as this is mainly my winter car so I didn't need working rear windows). 6 Button OBC has oranging but I have the radio set to show a clock when the car is on. Heat works, no A/C, all gauges work, rear window defroster works.

    Mileage:
When I purchased the car the odometer was not working and stuck on ~150k, the PO said they had been driving it like that for a few years and couldn't give me a solid estimate of how many miles they'd put on it. I replaced the gears and the odometer now works fine and is currently at 166k. I would make a guess that the car is more like ~200k, but I can't be sure.

    Work Done:
Maintenance I've done to the car in my ownership includes: new battery, new intake bellows, pads and rotors all around, head gasket, valve cover gasket, timing belt, alternator, steering rack, rear subframe refresh (poly bushings, bearings, brake lines), ebrake cables, RTAB bushings, K&N air intake, cap & rotor, front tierods, rear Bilstien shocks, front & rear bearings, had stainless brake lines up front when I got the car, I'm probably forgetting some things.

    Mechanical:
Car runs and drives, has been my daily for 2 years. All wheel drive works great, passed a jack test with flying colors. It does have its quirks being a higher mileage e30. When the car is cold, its occasionally runs a little bit rough and has a slight surge in the idle, but it goes away after a bit. I haven't looked into this too much other than checking plug wires and spark plugs, which look fine, replacing the cap & rotor, and swapping the ICV with one from another car. The car had an oxygen sensor code that has been cleared and I have no record of it ever being done, so that could be part of it. It will need some TLC as these older e30s always do, especially with higher miles. I'm selling the car because I needed something bigger and have other e30s that need my attention.

This car certainly has life left in it if you're willing to give it the TLC that it needs. It's a working AWD manual e30 ix that looks great going down the road and has a very nice interior.

Asking $3700, but I am willing to work with someone who will give the car a good home. Located in Burlington, VT. PM me (or zcenterb) with questions or to set up a time to see the car. Thanks!
