    Project Blau: '94 Touring

A quick intro to my new touring that just arrived a few weeks ago. Jumped through some hoops to get it registered but all is now right in this world and Montreal has a sweet e30 touring running around town.

1994 318iT, Mauritius Blue with the special end of production Design Edition interior. It's actually one of the last tourings built as the production date is Feb '94. Found it in Hamburg where it spent all it's life being meticulously maintained by one owner and took a chance buying it sight unseen.

Overall it's in amazing shape and drives pretty fresh, the plan is to make a fun summer daily & practice lapping car for non race weekends. The motor is an M40 rated at 114hp and it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. A bit sluggish off the line but once going scoots around town with energy.

Quick mods so far: Renown 100 wheel, ZHP shift knob & tinted the windows (felt like i was driving around in an aquarium). Waiting to be installed: Ground Control complete suspension.

Things to do: there are some hail like dents on the hood which can be removed paintless, fix a couple of surface rust spots, add an IS front lip, sway bars, source some fabric to repair bolster wear and then eventually more pwwrrrr (probably an M52).

I'll use this thread for updates, thanks for reading.

On to the pics (sorry no hubcaps, they are out for paint):

      Cheers.

Wheel is Renown 100 Motorsport. They are based out of California. Love their products and have them in all my older cars. Since i'm pretty tall I always swap out the wheels as it greatly improves the driving position.

Perforated leather with M-stitch that's in my M3:

Lovely car! What is the vdo gauge there under the instrument cluster? A/F ratio?

              Good luck with it!

Cheers, the gauge is an aftermarket outdoor temp.

Can you reach the stalk controls without moving your hands from the steering wheel?

Does the headlight adjuster work? Mine was bone dry of hydraulic fluid. Ended up deleting it.

They are now about 3” away from the wheel. I don’t have a problem reaching as my fingers are long.

About the headlight adjuster, I honestly don’t know so will take a look this weekend.

3" would be comfortable, it just looked so far in some of the pictures.
