I want to thank everyone for all the help they have been in the reconstruction of this car.
Has taken about 4 years, but now it is ready for the next person to finish it up and put on their personal touches.
Built in 84; sold in 85 and converted by Kohl Automotive about the same time into an h-26 hartge. Have some original paperwork that shows some if not all of the parts used to do the conversion. If you are not familiar with the h26 just do a Google search and you will find tons of information.
The good:
Real conversion car with almost all real Hartge parts. Where I could not find or afford the real thing I put the closest replica I could find.
I replaced the timing belt about 3 years ago along with a full tune up including valve adjustment.
Has new brake pads on the front and new tires all around. The hartge wheels are 16" and are in great condition.
Car starts and runs fine; but has 170,000 miles so I can't guarantee the engine. Should be fine, but a rebuild would really be nice.
Everything works on the car; except the radio. I replaced the cheap cd player with an original bmw radio; just needs to be hooked up.
Has a A/f gauge that is helpful in tuning the car.
New front fog lights
Reproduction hartge floor mats; zender rear valance, cluster is euro; but not real hartge and the pod is not hartge; think it is zender too.
has the hartge engine, front spoiler, badges, side skirts, rear deck spoiler, springs, steering wheel, hartge exhaust tip and front back strut bars.
The bad:
Really needs a paint job. The paint is presentable, but like any 80's car the clear coat is coming off; there is rust in the floor pans. When I checked it, I did not see any holes, but if you are going to paint the car; it would be good to fix that area too.
The title is clear for Idaho; but there was an insurance claim in Washington...I think. The car shows some damage to the rear valance so even though it was repaired I have seem better jobs done.
Rear seat could be re-done; but it is ok for now...want a perfect car then time to repair the rear seat.
All in all a nice car and very rare. Not like you will see another hartge h-26 at the e30 picnic:)
I will link the build thread with all the addition information on the car.
Please note the car does not have AC and does have power steering and of course a lsd and a 5 speed.
Trades: M3 project:), anything alpina, e21 turbo. Have to work out a deal on trading plus cash; or no cash to me on the m3:).
Please pm me if you have questions:
I know the price is a bit high for an e30, but tuner cars are expensive:)
Want 18k for the car as is.
Most likely car will go on e-bay soon or maybe BAT.
Car is on Boise Craigslist; but I can't link that here:)
Here is the build thread:
My good pictures will not load for some reason? You will just have to take a look at the build thread or CL; I can also send you any pictures you want to see by e-mail.
thanks,
jm
