Here to help with German language and German market

    Hi everyone

Just thought I'd put this here, maybe someone might need it some day:
If anyone wants a German-language text translated or wants to look for/buy something from the German market feel free to contact me/post it in this thread.
I know that I'm better at English/German translations than google translate (and similar), and maybe I can help find/acquire something you can't find abroad (or that doesn't ship to wherever you are).

How are you at acronymns? What I'd call "Auf Technisch-Deutsch". ;)

Honestly, the best contributions are to make corrections for Google translate, unless you are willing to donate a lot of your time (kudos, then).

I have made hundreds of corrections for BMW specific translations myself - mostly they are just missing the correct context. Who would have thought 3 years of German courses would be useful? :)

I'd say I'm fine at it, since I get along perfectly with German terminology as well as the English one.
The only "flaw" are some terms that don't have a translation :-/

I've done a bunch of those, but I got some time left so I thought I could use that to help (since everyone here helps me, too).
I'm not going to translate whole books, but certain terms or short texts (like, from a manual or a catalog, for example) should be just fine.

3 years of German is very useful I'd say.
      BUT:
German is not an easy language to learn, especially our grammar is quite complicated to figure out especially for foreigners (but also to some native Germans too).
For example, "the" can mean about half a dozen German words

          What kind of parts?
          New spare parts?
Just walk into any BMW dealership, they can hook you up either right away, or in 2-3 days with most parts.
There's a zip-code based search for the nearest one on BMW's German homepage.
          Motorsport-parts?
There are a bunch of companies offering that, but the parts usually take over a week to fabricate and ship.
          Anything else:
          I'd suggest "ebay-kleinanzeigen" (ebay-kleinanzeigen.de), it's kind of a German-language smaller version of craigslist.
You could PM me what you're looking for (or post it here) and I can have a look around.

I can see how that could be unclear. The e36 m3 came with a individual throttle body. Basically a special kind of air intake, the American market e36 m3 never came with this setup. I read somewhere that the e36 m3's Individual Throttle bodies where about 300 USD over in the EU.

No, it's not unclear. But you'd be very unhappy when you got those fancy ITBs and tried to fit them to your S52.

Now, S54 ITBs, those might be in the $300 range. To save you the trouble, those also won't fit an S52.

The reason i want a oem e36 m3 itb is because when you cut the 2 middle bodies off and weld it back together it fits a M42. M42 ITB's cost 2k new so if I can dip my own for 500$ or so I'll take it.

If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I could not find them in BMW's official parts-list (the one you can order from online), but I found this on German eBay-Kleinanzeigen:
Kleinanzeigen: Gebrauchte Autoteile günstig kaufen - Jetzt in Bückeburg finden oder inserieren! eBay Kleinanzeigen ist jetzt Kleinanzeigen.

He says it fits the M/S52, having the parts-number 1433385
Calling up BMW might help, maybe the part you're looking for is no longer available new.
And S52-engines (and their parts, mostly) demand a big premium, they tend to be more expensive than S54-engines.
