Central Door Lock Actuator Functional Test

So I have been reading through posts and google searches for the last few hours and have not found anyone who has tested the actuators themselves for functionality. I am trying to systematically eliminate issues in the Central Locking system so that I can get it working but I do not know if any of the components are good.
    Things I have done:
    1. Checked the fuse for the system (Good)
    2. Checked for 12 V at pin 3 of the control unit (Good)
    3. Checked for ground on pin 4 of control unit (Good)
    4. Checked continuity from pins 1 and 2 to the actuator terminals of both doors (Good)
I am hoping to test just the actuator and think that I can supply 12 V to either pin 1 or 2 of the actuator to make it lock or unlock but have not been able to find a definitive answer on that.
Please help, I am at my wits end with this system and would prefer not to drop $300 dollars on all new control unit and actuators until I know that all of the parts I have are bad.
    Thank you in advance.

At the end of the BMW electical diagram of the central locking there is a trouble shoot.
You have to try and jump a few of the connections on the control unit and see what works and what not and go from there.

I was able to diagnose that my front drivers side actuator was bad this way. I still need to swap it with an other one I got though :)
