A little help with sways and deciding what i actually need

    Hey Everyone,

Finally got my rear subframe out and ready to do all of the needed reinforcements ready for new bushings. I figure I might as well get the sway bars and end links figure out so that I can just put it all back together and be done with it. That being said, I don't really know what is a worth while upgrade, and what at this point I will just be spending extra on for the sake of spending extra...

My car will have garagistic delrin subframe bushings on top of the solid delrin motor and trans bushings. I have a set of fortune auto coils going on as well with (if I can recall correctly) 12k front and 10k rear springs. Since I have a pretty solid setup, do I want to go with a softer sway bar set, or go with a stiffer (larger?) set?

On top of the bar selection itself, is it worth getting adjustable end links? What about chassis mounted sway bar supports for the rear? Are those two actually going to help, or just more shiny parts people spend on?

I suppose at this point its worth mentioning (if people havn't already assumed by the parts listed) that the car is going to be more track oriented with some weekend driving here and there.

    Thanks in advance.

The parts you have already spent money on (fortune C/O's), are already "spending extra for the sake of spending extra". A home-brew coilover setup or H&R race combo would have done great.

You should start with the IE 22/19 swaybar set (not the cheesy knock-off garage-what'sit pieces). If the car is going to be tracked (or even driven decently hard) you should do the reinforcement parts that already come with IE's kit. The pieces are included for a reason. Namely the reinforced front swaybar pivot, the rear endlink reinforcement, and the billet rear chassis mounts. Those three spots are the weak points and WILL fail in stock form given your intentions with the car.

If you are welding on your subframes already then you should do the front motor mount reinforcement tabs, and the adjustable rear camber/toe plates (posi-lock style).
