    731 vs 885 oil in-flow

    What's the purpose of the small pair of holes between each combustion chamber on an 885 head, which aren't present on a 731 head? These mate with the same holes in the block...

    Just had a bit of a eureka moment, realising the in-flow from the block is actually through the single, larger central bolt hole (right?)

    Looking to buy a 731 and was concerned about block compatibility. Everything I've read suggests they're bolt-on compatible...

    Oil comes up a bolt hole yes. Those little holes are not for oil. Compability yes
    89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...
