    1985 BMW 325e S50 For Sale - SOLD

    SOLD

    1985 BMW 325e S50 Swap (e30)
Price: $10,500 and open to reasonable offers. Selling price was $9,500
    Location: San Francisco, CA

    Pictures here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1vL...fJyiB5NC1bEnFs

For sale is my S50 e30 that is BAR'd (smog legal). The car has recently undergone numerous repairs, which include the following:
    - New paint. Matches same original black paint. Paints looks great and there is no longer any evidence of the cracking clear coat
    - New front brakes. Replaced with UUC big brake kit rotors (Wilwood) and Hawk pads. Car no longer has brake wobble and stops smoothly
    - New dash cover
    - New floor mats (e82)
    - New front roundel
    - New shift boot

These repairs have the car in near perfect shape. A list of the small negatives will be at the end of this post.

I am selling the car after purchasing a new daily driver, 2011 BMW 335d, around a year ago. It's tough to part ways with a car that I've owned for over 10 years, but I know the next owner will take incredible care of the car. Below is a summary of the build as it sits right now.

    2nd owner
    Car is California BAR/SMOG legal
    Purchased with 196,XXX miles
    Currently has ~250,000 miles

    Engine Bay
    ----------------
    S50 3.0L I6 engine from 1995 BMW M3
OBD1 using 506 silver label ECU (flashed chip)
    1995 E36 M3 headers
    E46 engine mounts
Engine harness modified to plug into existing chassis harness
    Aluminum Mishimoto radiator
Diesel fan in between motor and radiator
A/C installed (needs recharge or leak diagnosis)
Oil pump nut installed with locktite
K&N air filter (also have modified E36 box for smog)
    E21 brake booster
E39 power steering connector (power steering works)
    Skid plate
    E36 328is exhaust with S50 cats

    Transmission & Drivetrain
    -------------------------------------------
ZF 5-speed manual transmission from same '95 M3 (refreshed all seals, etc. on install)
New stock flywheel and clutch (upon install)
    E36 328is shift linkage
UUC Street EVO 3 Short Shifter
E36 328is remanufactured drive shaft (less than 10k miles)

    New intermediate driveshaft bearing
E28 3.25 LSD. Replaced seals upon install

    E30 318is rear spoiler
Style 5's with 42 Draft Design Adapters
    Yokohama S.drive 205/45R16 87W

    Interior
    ------------
    E30 318is tan interior
    E30 318is cluster (correct mileage)
    Odometer gears replaced
    Appropriate tachometer module
Functional indicator lights (minus oil level)

    Upgraded speakers (4 total)
    12" subwoofer in trunk
    Dual XIR3145 2/1 channel amplifier (580 watts x 1 chan)

    The Good
    ---------------
California BAR legal E30 S50. Extremely hard to come by these days and passes smog no problem (sticker inside passenger door)
New paint, new front brakes, new floor mats, new dash cover
Strong motor with zero hiccups. Oil change every 5k miles
Drive train is rock solid. Shifts extremely smoothly and 3.25 LSD is the perfect match with the engine/transmission
Stereo system is loud and subwoofer does its job
Suspension is firm, but not too firm. Perfect for daily driving
Big brake kit pairs perfectly with the extra power
A/C is ready to go - just needs a recharge or possibly reseal

    Imperfections
    --------------------
Car was in small front end wreck in 2013. Evidence of crash remains on hood and radiator mount. Zero damage to the rest of the frame due to low speed. The front valence was replaced when the euro bumper was installed
Dash could use replacing, but imperfections are covered by brand new dash cover
The moon roof is mostly functional. It moves forward and backward, but needs some help pushing up
Windshield wiper motor needs some work. Functional, but not perfect

    Other Parts For Sale
    -----------------------------
    Original 2.79 diff
    M52 from '98 528i w/ bad compression numbers on cylinder 3
    Other misc swap parts

Appreciate it man! Hope you're enjoying the new car. I would even say go M54/S54 for the swap. Lower mileage hopefully and plenty of people seem to have done it now. Cheers

Yeah...s54 is really tempting me. Not sure if you know of group, but just in case, check out the North America BMW Diesel Owners Group on Facebook. Pretty cool group of people and lots of vendors/knowledge. Unfortunately the diesel page on e90post is dying quickly. I will stop with the irrelevant post now

Haha I love that group. Lots of great knowledge in that Facebook group and I've learned a ton about maintenance on our diesels. You might see me post every once in a while (Tim Lapinskas). See ya there man
