    Non-airbag wheel swap question ...

Gearing up to have my mechanic dig into my instrument cluster (odometer gears and bulbs) and plan to have him swap the airbag wheel with a standard "i" wheel at the same time. I'm new to the area and my wrencher is actually a classic Porsche/VW guy with a fondness for E30s and other older BMWs but by no means an expert. I want him to pull as much of the airbag-related components as possible while he's in there, but am wondering if there are any parts of the system he needs to leave alone.

I've already done a search of the site but was not able to find a write-up on this (whole lot of other great info, tho).

Appreciate any help/advice. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I just removed every connector from the airbag unit, I did not bother to remove it all..
You also have to remove a plastic pin when installing a non airbag wheel.
