What does your AC compressor sound like?

Hey guys,

I am just curious what your ac compressor sounds like when it is running. Is it quiet? Is it whiny? The reason I ask is because mine was whining so I figured the internals were bad on it so I bought a new Omega compressor (see photo). However, after a quick test drive with the new compressor, it whines exactly like the old one. It varies based on RPM and it is quite loud on acceleration, it's fine while cruising. I put the correct amount of oil in it before I put it in the car and recharged it. Maybe I botched something on the installation? What do you guys think? I can film a video if that would help.

Edit: I did the complete R134A conversion. New evaporator, condenser, expansion valve, pressure switch, and drier.

Hahaha, I wish I could tell you, but mine has been frozen for more than 10 years. On my other cars (non-BMW), they are whisper quiet.

Mine was quiet as far as i remember, but I ditched it like 12 years ago.

Maybe the bracket is bent?

The only sound mine makes is when the clutch engages. What about the belt ?
