    FS: CAtuned M20 Stage 2

    Hey guys,

I bought a car built by CAtuned (not directly) in the fall of 2018. Since then I have basically stripped it down to the shell with the exception of the engine & trans. I’m going a different direction with the car and plan on pulling the drivetrain in early/mid April so I wanted to get this post up to gauge interest.

I’ve been exchanging emails with Igor at CAtuned who advised me that the engine was built as their Stage 2 option. The head was built by Bimmerheads. Igor provided me with the build sheet which I attached for reference. The motor has a little over 7,000 miles on the clock since the rebuild and has no known issues other than the oil pan gasket which needs to be replaced.

    Two things to note:

    1. Igor wants the “CAtuned” valve cover back which I have agreed to provide. He said he will replace the cover with a cover of the buyers choice.
    2. Igor has first dibs on the Getrag 260.

Retail price on the build is $4,800. I’m asking $2,500 to try to move it quick. I’m on the east coast and would prefer not to ship. When the engine is pulled, the car will be in Maryland where the swap is being done. After the swap is complete I’ll be bringing everything back to Long Island.

I’ll also be selling the full exhaust and possibly the radiator depending on if I can use it or not.

    Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.

    The valve cover looks sick!

Any dyno numbers? It might be useful for people into m20s.

Lol prob why he wants it back.

Never dyno’d it but Igor and the guys at CAtuned are well known and well respected in the industry so I can tell you that it’s done right.

Not trying to shit on your post but that’s a pretty penny for a stock rebuild with nothing performance based done
Stock rockers, stock cam and only new parts are the rings, bearings and valve stem seals

I just think you should expect it to sit a while for what your asking

Well, he literally asked for it.

And yeah man, that is rocket high for a stock rebuild.

$3,500 is s54 territory, perhaps one that needs some love, but still.

Edit: Took me 30 seconds on Craigslist to find one. $3,500 on the dot.

Rocket high would be a necessary state to be in to purchase this for asking price.

Appreciate everyone’s feedback and yes I did ask for it. I actually got a good laugh at some of the comments. Sounds like I shot too high. I adjusted the asking price and I’m open to offers...

did bimmerheads ever release flow bench numbers on their heads?

i mean, that's sort of the only thing that makes this not just a rebuilt m20. not really what i was expecting when i clicked a thread with "stage 2" in the title.
