    JB Weld Throttle body heater

Hi guys. My three screws were rusted and unfortunately I didn't do a spectacular job drilling them out so my plan is to use blue RTV to make a gasket and clamp the hose fitting piece to the throttle body, then after the RTV cures, use JB weld around the perimeter of the housing to hold it in place in lieu of the three screws. I know it's not a serviceable solution but then again neither is my throttle body in its current state anyway.

Any suggestions? The screws being rusty is pretty common so I'm trying to be resourceful and use what I have.

Here's a pic of my rebuild so far for those who like pictures

Could you bypass the throttle body heater?

I would never J-B weld anything on my motor, I was wondering why my idle was messed up and where the idle adjustment screw was supposed to be, behold there was J-B weld.

    Build looks amazing

This guide will show you how to properly bypass your throttle body heater. Parts needed spare thermostat housing spare throttle body plate 1/4-18npt bolt or plug m12x1.5 bolt m14x1.5 bolt 2 crush washers Tools needed drill press or hand drill various drill bits bench vise m12x1.5 tap m14x1.5 tap 1/4-18npt tap tap handl

Most people in warmer climates just delete it.

Based on you sig, I guess you would like to keep it.

I've run this setup in 20-25F, and didn't have issues.

The heater loop is notorious for leaking in stock configuration.
Without proper/even clamp from the bolts, I bet it would eventually leak with just jb weld. If I were you, I would just source another throttle body.

Send it to me. I can fix it. I can likely retap the holes for a larger M5 screw, provide you with one of my new billet ported coolant covers ($25) and remachine the gasket surface to get a good seal. And I can do it quick. Post some pics of what the throttle body currently looks like.

By the way, your exhaust manifolds look great. I sandblasted and Cerakoted mine and they look on point.
