R134a cans now need new tap for self-seal type. Anyone have one?

I discovered this weekned that the new R134a cans have self sealing valves on them (which is smart) and that the old "piercing" can taps do not work (which sucks). Searching I find either really lousy plastic looking adapters or no name amazon offerings with horrible reviews. Professional sites like ColdHose have told me they don't sell the part.

Anyone have a self-seal R134a can tap they use with their manifold set?

    general idea here http://acprocold.com/self-sealing-valve/

I just got mine from oriley. They are kinda annoying because each time you open a can you loose a little freeon.

Good a decent looking brass part at NAPA.

Seems like my hard to find leak may have been at the service port. NAPA did not sell R134a service ports. Anyone have a recommended source for a high qual item - presuming steel preferable to alum as its connecting to a steel hard line and therefore expansion will be the same?

Those cans that come with their own fill hoses typically don't attach to manifolds. Just get a simple 12oz can which I just saw at Walmart for less than $5@.

I solved this. The issue was finding the TAP that mates to the $5 can with the new top. They seem to be hard to find online, easy at FLAPS

I was able to use my piercing style tap on a self sealing can with no issues. I used the whole can, so I can't say if it would have sealed up afterwards if there were any left.
