As many of you know, I started selling e30 parts because of a negative member that scammed me when I got my first e30.

I purchased a 1988 BMW 325i Convertible that had a bad head gasket and I paid Bo, now known as "E30partsonline" to do the head gasket on my car.

He took the car for over two months and when I got the car back, I took it on a trip with my friends to Arizona. During the trip, the oil drain plug fell out, and subsequently, the engine was toast.

At Bimmerforums, you will find technical how-to information maintenance specifics audio advice wheel and tire combinations and model specific details not found anywhere else. As a result of this, my kind friend who was on the trip with me purchased a Chevy Tahoe and we rented a uhaul and towed the car back to San Jose from Wilcox, Arizona.

I towed it over 600 miles back to Bo and he refused to work on it, essentially telling me it was my problem and even going further to accuse me of loosening the drain plug on my own accord.

Lastly, I purchased a new e30 and he offered to change the top from my original car to the new one as an attempt to remedy the situation. During that process, he stole two sport seats from me without my permission.

I have been selling parts and taking these cars apart for the past two years of my life while going to school full time. I worked hard and never gave up on my dream of owning an e30.

This burning passion to sell parts that are in good working order with honesty and accountability has all rooted from this guy right here.

I have completed the head gasket job on several of my cars as well as my customer's cars with great success and no issues to note. Doing my first head gasket job was a big feat of success for me as it once brought so much stress and hopelessness to my younger 18-year-old days. I trusted bo, to solve this problem for me by giving him my monthly salary at the time but instead, he kicked me to the curb.

If this self-proclaimed "e30partsonline" wants to work on your car or sell you parts - just walk away.

That in summary, is my experience with e30partsonline.

Wow, sounds like Bo stripped your oil pan and sent it anyways. I’ve always disliked people that don’t stand behind their work. If he was the last person to touch it he should be liable. Sucks to hear your parts got stolen too, people get down on their luck and use shitty behavior to attempt to come up off of others. A shitty trait in life and worse in business transactions..

Ive had mostly good things to say about 90% of the buyers/sellers on here including you Siebenthal! Glad you informed us to stay away from this mess of a “business” e30partsonline

I respectfully ask everyone to hold their judgement until you hear my side of the story. I have proof what Oscar accused me of are false. I’m gathering all the evidence at the moment. I will post in few hours.

in the meantime, perhaps Oscar can post some proofs to back up his accusations. It’s easy to get behind the computer and typed up something to falsely accused other people.

          Sincerely,
          Bo

Why would I break my own car and accuse you of it? My whole point of giving you my money to change the HG was for my 18-year-old self to get to school and back as stated in the bimmerforums post above.

You can even read through the forum post alone and see my genuine emotions through the dialogue. Having you take almost two months to change a head gasket was unacceptable by any means and why would I risk waiting longer to get a functional car which I needed ASAP by sabotaging my own vehicle???

Preface: I purchased another e30 and bo offered to change the top from my first car onto this one. He did not mention price or anything of that nature prior to helping me with the work. From what I understood, he was merely doing it as a gesture of good faith to help me get back on my feet after his failure with the head gasket job (how can anyone muck that up anyway??)

Most of our conversations were on the phone but I do redact something I said earlier. I stated in the previous post that he stole my seats. However, upon reading through the conversation two years ago, I realized that I had given him permission to take the seats as a tip for helping me swap the convertible top from Car A to B.

However, he failed to install the top properly and it did not sit flush (1" of gap from roofline to top) - and he did not bolt the seats nor the steering wheel down.

Furthermore, he helped himself without asking me and started stripping my car #1 on his own accord. He STOLE the 13 button obc kit, cruise control kit, heated seat wiring and many more assorted parts. After driving the car and experiencing all the terrible work, I asked him for my parts that he never had permission to take, as well as the seats back due to the terrible job that he had done and thus, screwing me over once more.

He neglected to reply and these message screenshots of the full conversation and not excerpts of select parts will indeed show that.

I have nothing to gain from this other than sharing my own experience.

My car's failure has been documented in the bimmerforums post two years ago and my story/experience has not changed since then.

            You reap what you sow.

Good luck with your "business" selling other peoples goods

I don't have any personal grudges against you - as I have learned far more from this experience than the thousands of dollars that I gave you. I have restored several of these cars as well as parted out over 26 of them in the past two years. I wake up every day at 5.30 am with a vengeance and a passion to strive for greatness and excellence.

Honesty and Accountability are the most important things required to run a business.

Siebenthal has falsely accused me of scamming him and stealing parts off his car related to work I performed three years ago. He has already retracted one of his initial accusations only to add more accusations. I have screenshots of our entire interaction with date stamps to validate my version of the events. Summary below:

My principle business is sourcing and selling hard-to-find and NLA E30 parts, which I have been doing since 20XX. Although I do occasionally perform work on my clients' cars, wrenching is not my primary business and something I only do part time. Oscar approached me about buying a set of plastic bumpers that he wanted to install on his recently purchased pre-facelift E30 cabriolet. When he came to pick up the bumpers, Oscar mentioned that his car had a bad head gasket, so I suggested that he prioritize replacing the head gasket before spending money on the plastic bumpers. The end of the year was approaching and I had plenty of other projects, so I did not solicit his business or offer to perform the head gasket replacement - Oscar asked me to take the job. I agreed on the condition that it would take me longer to complete the job because because I had other things going on. He thought my prices were reasonable and said it was worth it to him to wait.

Oscar dropped off the car on Friday, December 2, 2016. When I got around to inspecting the car a few days later, I discovered that the car had numerous issues that required attention to make the car roadworthy: oil leaks, suspension issues, driveshaft, etc. Oscar instructed me to add the additional items to the scope of work and acknowledged that it would extend the time required to complete the work. What started out as a head gasket replacement turned into a major mechanical refresh of a car with lots of deferred maintenance. But over the next two weeks, Oscar contacted me multiple times about when the car would be ready for pickup because he wanted to drive it to Canada and Southern California. Each time, I made clear that it would be unsafe to drive his E30 until work on the car was complete and that I needed more time to do everything. On Christmas Day, Oscar showed up and said he wanted to take his car that same day. I explained it wasn't ready and that the control arms had not been replaced yet and that it would be unsafe to drive the car. He said he would wait while I reassembled everything, but that he was taking the car that day. I worked until midnight putting things back together, though there was not enough time to complete the remaining work. Before driving away, I specifically told Oscar that I had family obligations but that I would complete the balance of the work the following Wednesday before he took off on his trip. The next day, he texted stating that he intended to drive 200 miles to pick up parts. On Tuesday night around 11pm, he called to tell me he was stranded on the freeway while driving to Arizona. Oscar blames me for the damage to his car even though:

              - he demanded to take his car before I had completed work
              - he did not return the car to me to allow me to complete the work as I had instructed
              - he drove the car nearly 1k miles with a bad suspension and in an unsafe condition against my recommendations

Again, I have screenshots of our entire written correspondence to support my version of the events.

              Best,
              Bo
              Regards,

I do agree that Bo suggested replacing the rack and the control arms. However, due to the time crunch and Bo (e30partsonline) not being able to source two measly control arms, these jobs were not completed. Attached is an invoice sent by Bo for the jobs completed.

However, do not let this fool you from the real problem in this situation.

                1) The drain plug fell out of my motor causing it to lock up and thus, become totaled.
                2) Bo has yet to answer for the poor installation of the convertible top/interior pieces
                3) Bo has yet to fess up to the theft of parts on my car.

So, the only additional item that bo claims to have done is the Driveshaft. $150 for an auto driveshaft is way over market rate, but again I was naive back in the day. Furthermore, charging 2 hours of labour to swap a driveshaft is completely uncalled for - as anyone that has done this job before can do it within 20 minutes to an hour at most.

                1) Heat Shield Underpanneling
                2) 4 bolts by the diff 17mm
                3) 4 bolts by the trans 17mm
                4) 2 bolts on the center support bearing 13mm
                5) reverse

So in reality, the only additional work aside from the head gasket was the driveshaft.

Bo told me not to drive my car due to the suspension. However, it turned out to be the engine that he performed work on to fail.

Thank god he did not touch my suspension

Simply not tightening down the bolt on the drain pan is inexcusable and those are the facts.

I have performed head gasket jobs for my customers and the turnover is two days to a week at most.

Day 1) remove head, send to machine shop
Day 2) install head, valve adjust, oil change

Oh and I learned this from Bo's downfall
*tighten drain plug with torque wrench to factory spec*

Day 3) The customer drives it anywhere he wants, in any manner that he wants because when the job is done, the car performs better than it was prior to the job.

There is no such thing as a tune up after you do the HG. You simply follow the instructions provided in the Bentley manual, and valve adjust/oil change. Otherwise, every shop that does a HG swap will have to schedule a time to get the customer to come back for said: "tune up".

All in all, I'm not here to play tennis with Bo and bounce the ball from my side of the court to his. I am simply stating my feedback. Just what he asked for at the beginning of this thread.

I just ordered some convertible parts and a couple other bits. I saw this thread, but decided to order anyway. It showed up very fast, and was everything I ordered. He said it would show up tuesday, but I think I was talking to him on sunday or something so I am not sure that would have even been realistically possible. It got here wednesday, so about as fast as amazon prime in my experience! Smooth transaction, and he seems to have quite a lot of parts on hand.

                    Thanks Bo

Great transaction. I ordered a small part, glove box latch, and Bo took care of it. Answered all my questions quickly and shipped fast. It was sitting in my mailbox an extra day because I didn't realize it for here already! Packaged well with all the pieces I needed. Would buy again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

Perfect transaction. I purchased a set of door cards and handles for an E30 sedan that were in extremely good condition. I found his pricing reasonable for condition and they were exactly as described. If I'm honest, they were even better than expected in all aspects. Bo provided a number of pictures, answered my questions and most importantly, packed them extremely well and included the hardware. It was truly a complete package. I also appreciated he used a PayPal business address so I wasn't made to feel guilty about PayPal fees.
