Timing Chain Tensioner Washer or Gasket?

Just trying to find the right info for the washer/gasket for the timing chain tensioner. When I go to real oem https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_4367

it gives me this part number 07119963355 but on websites like ECS and FCP it seems like it is the wrong one and they give this part number 07119963418 (for the e36, there is no option for the e30 m42). Am I missing something here or is the washer reusable?

edit: was a washer supposed to come with the tensioner?

There is supposed to be a washer, you can use CU/AL depending on what you can find. Search A22X27 for other than OE parts. Running without it will likely cause a leak, probably an intermittent one, maybe as the parts expand/contract at different rates.

Never seen a tensioner with a washer included. Remember, low torque as you are threading steel in to aluminum, so only ever so slightly "crush" the washer.

You are correct as 07119963355 is the correct part no. I'm not sure why ECS is returning the other, as they have the correct part no, it's listed as a differential washer, but it is one and the same with the washer for the tensioner.

07119963418 is for the 6 cyl M52/M50/S50 timing chain tensioner. It's also used on the drain plug in the oil pan of E36 versions of the M42 and the M44, as they are different sump designs from the E30 version.

For reference the E30 and E36 M42 tensioners and cap are identical, and torque is 40nm or 29.5 ft/lbs for the cap once you put the new tensioner in.

I always plug the part number into ECS/Pelican/etc's search box rather than going through the catalog to find the part.
