    Need a few suggestions

I'm swapping my old eta engine for an m20-b25 out of an 89 cabrio and i want to change the exhaust set up i have now cause it sounds like crap. Currently i've got manifold-cat-single 2' downpipe -ansa muffler. and the sound is less than desireable.

Is this cause the engine itself just doesn't make for a nice sound? I want the car to sound a good deal louder than stock with the new engine.

Right now i'm considering getting an 'i' cat and having a custom 2'5 pipe made to a borla or magnaflow muffler. Does anyone have a rough estimate on what this might run me?

Can i run the new engine with the current exhaust setup untill i can save up enough to get a new system?

What do you guys suggest doing. Thanks

an OEM i cat will add unnecessary cost to the setup, IMO.

just get an aftermarket cat the same diameter as your muffler (magnaflow has those too) and make a Y off the stock downpipes into that.

Get a Catco universal converter. Those can be had for less than $75. The muffer will run you maybe close to $150 depending on if you get mirror finish, overpriced tips, etc...

For the pipe, go to a muffler shop and get an estimate.

From what I've heard, they are one of the better flowing aftermarket cats out there.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but what's the point in having a cat if it doesn't go it's job?

              I'm not being sarcastic.

It is one of the better flowing cats, meaning its not restrictive.

If you want a cat that is a sure thing to pass emissions or smog crap in cali, then go stock.
