Have you tried Bravarian Auto Recycling? www.bmrparts.com

If you cannot find it on their website they have a special parts request form.

Tried there, none in stock and they don't have anyway to get their hands on one.

did you try some of those iX resources I suggested? Post on that Yahoo group - someone there might know.

Also, Eurodepot might be able to help.

I checked some of those iX resources you suggested Dave. I posted in the yahoo group and scanned through my personal archive of the emails without luck. It takes a long time for a response from the group, much longer than normal responses from here.

I forgot to check Eurodepot, but I just did. Called and spoke with someone, they only have a transfer case for a standard transmission. I need one for an auto.

          Any other ideas?

alex maybe? He has parted some iX cars, so I would try him if you haven't already. Or email jmorgan@roundel.org and ask her if she knows of anywhere that might supply them.

I wish I could have done this, but its already costing a fortune. $3800 to have the engine rebuilt, plus $2200 for a rebuilt transfercase from BMW. Plus shipping on the part, plus labor. The insurance company is already paying out a lot on this claim and I'm not going to try to push my luck.
