1988 BMW 325iS 142,951 miles.
ATTN: car title is salvaged. ive had it checked out twice for frame damage and none was found. dont judge a banana by its peel. haha.
Recent maintenence:
complete brakes (ATE powerslot rotors in front, Brembo OEM in rear. Mintex pads)
complete clutch kit (sachs OEM pressure plate, clutch disc, and pilot bearing with throw out bearing)
Resurfaced flywheel when the clutch went in.
the timing belt was done before i bought the car, not entirely sure on when it needs a new one, but im sure its no time soon. replaced the waterpump, all belts, fan blade, fuel filter, plugs, cap and rotor, new oil pan gasket, new valve cover gasket, new oil filter housing gasket kit, new temperature sender.
when the exhaust was replaced it got a new catalytic converter and passed smog no problem. recently had an upper engine cleaning to remove carbon build up on valves and pistons.
driveline is in good order, checked everything while the transmission was out when the clutch was done although im sure it needs a new CSB. when i bought the car, it came with a 2.93 open differential. i replaced it with a 80k mile 3.73 LSD, still in good order.
the suspension had new shocks/struts when i bought the car, they are still on with the Ireland Engineering Stage three springs, ive had no issues with the setup.
the car has sport seats, thought a bit tattered, still hold and operate normally with the exception of blown seat shocks (they dont pop up when you pull the lever, you must move it manually.) it has the 13 button on board computer, works great. maplight mirror. power everything.
the audio system has been upgraded. alpine headunit with pioneer 5 1/2 front speakers and 5x7 rear speakers, all stock mounts and hidden. speakers are powered by an amp. planned on getting a subwoofer but didnt. its sounds good but by no means a top of the line system. just something to make music instead of the static of blown stock speakers.
the A/C was retrofitted to R-134a. blows cold and works flawlessly with one exception, when coming to a stop, the rpm stays at 1200rpm with AC on, if you switch it off then back on, it works normal. not sure what causes it.
always changed oil regualrly, all fluids have been changed in the last year.
i have a sized stack of receipts from the previous owner. none from myself, i did all of the work on this car myself.
things i would replace:
the driver side upper strut mount- one of the studs broke off from myself overtightening it. never had issues, just something i didnt get around to.
coolant level sensor- it doesnt work, so the check panel always says coolant is low. ive never had this car overheat on me. and the coolant isnt low.
center support bearing- only when giving it all shes got in first and second gear do you actually feel it.
those would be the only things i can actually think of at the moment.
in the photos the driver side kick panel is off and so is the knee bolster. i have the kick panel and will reinstall. the knee bolster im looking for. i think ive pretty much covered everything. if you have anyother questioins. feel free. PH: 808-330-1188. or email: e30devo@yahoo.com
PRICE: $4300 FIRM OBO. HAH.
Thank you, Devin Thomas
