The PO of my car took it upon himself to get a maaco paintjob. I wish he hadnt, I would have rather had oxidized or faded factory paint. When I got the car there was overspray on every trim piece including the windshield gaskets, the paint is bubbleing in places and flaking off, plenty of orange peel too. I wont be going to maaco when I get it repainted. You get what you pay for, but i will be removing all of my trim and doing some of the prep.
Stay away from Maaco, they're good for a cheap ass paint job if you're getting ready to sell an older car, but that's about it. My dad had an early 90's toyota pickup with white baja fenders and got it all resprayed at Maaco. It made it easier to sell it, but I wouldn't suggest going there. Just search around for a custom car shop, you don't have to get some crazy ass paint job, but you can at least rest assured they won't do a piss poor job.
