The red wire on the e30 harness is constant power. If you used that, the antenna would be powered all the time, causing your draw. The white wire is only powered when the radio is on. Use that one...

That's a pulse sensor. Kind of like a low tech cam position center. Early model cars had them.

And yeah, car won't run without the coil wire.

I would agree, but worn out lights with hazy reflectors don't put out much light at all. I know from experience, sadly. New lights are a different story.

Early model cars use M8x20 bolts.

I agree 100%. It's not hard to just put the car up on stands and drain it from underneath. While you're under there, it's a good time to check on everything else and look for any potential problems.

Sounds like there is something on the dash. I'd try cleaning it really well with soap and water first to remove whatever is on it.
