I use brake clean. Clean the general area before you start turning bolts to keep it out of the oil passages..

Replace the oil in the housing when your done vs. pouring it in through the valve...

Don't forget the two short pieces hidden under the upper intake. The high pressure side was replaced under recall using those oddball clamps. The low pressure side is probably original and rotten.

The connectors on the early e's tend to biodegrade. Once you have them both replaced, you should be good for a decade +.

DME's are bulletproof for the most part unless you car leaks.
