I had to adjust the valves on my well worn 2.7L a step tighter than factory spec which quieted things down quite a bit. My temp also never goes to 1/2 mark either. I do have a NOS AFM for later 2.7L...

I am pretty sure they are Hartge reps made in Japan. The stampings/markings look exactly like the 2-pc Hartges manufactured for Asian markets, but without the Hartge brand.
