Bimmerheads business is on fire in here :firehop:
Whereabouts in LA? 'Tis a big place.
Btw did you get those motor mount arms? I have a set you could buy
I'm driving up to Bimmerheads on Saturday if anyone wants to throw parts in my car or drive with me (in their own car). I'm coming from Torrance.

I have a strong feeling that somebody already grabbed the pan. People know its worth and will grab it immediately, regardless of a sale. You'd have to do the same once you get that email. The arms are probably still there though.
As for machining, since you're also in the south bay, I can recommend Vellios. They've done some engine work for me.
But I also recommend Matt & Shant at BimmerHeads, because they're more experienced with BMWs ;)

There are guys that have the drop on those sought after swap items at least in Wilmington. They have a relationship with the workers at the yards to get first pickings before the cars drop. These same guys sell parts on CL."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Thanks, I'll give Vellios a call.
Lkq can be pretty lame, but I cant complain I got my m54b30 for 250$ There's a 5 speed 88' 735i that just got put in. I want to buy the whole power train. To bad about the car apparently there's only 200 in NA with a 5 speed.91' 318is 90' 325is

I'll admit I had the great luck and pleasure of walking into the yard on day, looking for something else, and I walked by an e34, just thinking whatever, I'll go look anyway, and by golly it was untouched! I check my phone, their site, and it hadn't been listed yet. So I grabbed the pan, and I got an email notification at the end of the day.
Needless to say, they aren't updating their system the moment the car arrives. Sometimes you just have to be lucky.
Be grateful they they at least have an online inventory. Some yards don't. And 10+ years ago, none of them did ;)
