That is pretty incredible I can never manage to keep my season that cheap. Especially if you go to nationals its going to be well over 10k.

Here are my costs split per weekend, includes wear
Uhaul: 160$ per event (Trailer)
Tires: 400$ per event (new set every other event)
Event: 350$ish (2 days of racing)
Fuel: 150$ (including tow vehicle)
Brakes: 60$ (New pads/discs every 6 events)
Food: 60$ (3 meals for 2 people)
Oil: 12$ (6 quarts+filter every 6 events
Car cost: 500$-1000$ (Splitting the cost of buying updating/ building over the year.)
Expect around 2000$ per event to enjoy racing. Which is still 14K$ for 7 events.

Seth,
How competitive is your car?
How far is your track?
4 events?
Consider cost of how many hours a motor, Trans, Diff is good for?
How many hours would you calculate a weekend?
P4 was my best finish, usually 15 cars. I ran near the back half of mid pack the first half of the season (working on bugs and getting things dialed in) and by the second half of the season I was in the front half of mid pack (most races). Considering Norcal has the most competitive drivers (looking at national results, and my own opinion) that's not too bad.
The track that we run most, Sonoma Raceway is 35 minutes from my house.
I ran 4 full weekends and 1 half weekend.
The engine is very healthy(great compression, good HP results) trans feels good, and diff breakaway torque is very good as well, close to the maximum spec allowed.
There's usually 3 races per weekend with our group, the car is on track about 2.5 hours +/-

How far is your track? Sonoma Raceway is about 30 minutes away and we run there the most, Thunderhill is 2 hours away
4 events? 4/5 events yes
Consider cost of how many hours a motor, Trans, Diff is good for? This was just a raw break down of the cost I incurred during this season, but diff is in great condition and the engine was just build before buying the car.
How many hours would you calculate a weekend?
