    Diaries of a AWD E30

Welcome to a build thread about my ownership of a 1991 325iX. I drive it as much as possible in any weather, as I build this car I will continue to learn more about electronics, bodywork, fabrication and improving driver skill. The idea is to have the ultimate handling AWD e30, the "what if BMW made an AWD group B e30" if you are just here for photos they are in this first post. Happy to answer any questions about the car as this is a place I hope to share some useful information with my endeavors.

Never would have guess that's a wrap. It seems so close to the actual factory color.

So glad you posted a build thread man! I've been watching your car evolve via instagram, of all places. This is one of my favorite iXs.

You need to show R3V what that exhaust setup looks like, because it's fantastic.

Yeah, I was intending to just do the front at first. Its different enough that I wrapped the entire thing, I had a red factory drilled trunk and rear bumper (mine was deformed). It's much better to look at and I can focus on power again.

Yeah, I kept thinking about posting on here but was really too busy to care. But better late than never? :o

Thanks, it's my first e30/ project so I've learned a few things along the lines. But I definitely want to get my own tig and start fabricating/ fixing some stuff. And yes Instagram :p

Wrap is not bad, when the time comes I will build a rotisserie with another engine stand and strip the underside/ do metal repairs/ seam seal undercoat. the car will get a full respray in some color. A driver restoration.

Thanks, lots of help/ inspiration on here, make me want to dive into metal work (with experienced friends help) but that's beside the point. Your 325iX thread is awesome...

:tsk: No pulling out of this one. lol, you've owned too many cars to have ever committed to keeping one. Gotta start somewhere...

Have you had any axles pop out yet and/or ripped inner boots?

Cool to see you finally make a thread :)

Still a shame the 2.9 never came together. That would have been a badass motor
