    What is the easiest swap to BAR

    I have been looking, and wondering what is the easiest swap to get BAR'd in the lovely republic of California?

    Seems like from what I have been reading is that exhaust manifolds on engine could be automatic fail if the ref so chooses?

      OBD1 m50TU or S50 are the easiest by far. Everything more or less bolts up.

      The referee will run the block # and pull up what motor it's supposed to be for, so your chances of sneaking a OBD1-converted S52 are low.

      They will fail you if they see that your manifolds are not OE for your motor, or are modified in any way. I've failed for spliced in pipe sections that were added to replace rust holes.
