    HAWK Performance Ceramic or HPS

Trying to narrow my search to decide which pads I'm going to purchase. I haven't seen many people talking or using the Hawk PC's but lots of reviews on the HPS. I will be using my car for both track and street. I know a lot of people are changing pads once they hit the track but looking for a tweener pad. Thanks

I've run Hawks on two cars (1990 CRX HP+, 1989 E30 HPS) and I hate them. I'm running Wilwoods up front, but I just put Ferodo DS2500s on and it was a night and day difference. With the HPS pads I always just thought the E30 had mediocre brakes. I was wrong, I just don't like Hawk's street pads. Looks like you can get the DS2500 for the stock brakes:

They are about as aggressive as you can safely run on the street and will probably be pretty load.

Note, I don't think Hawk's race pads are bad, we run Blues on our 240sx Champcar and they're great. I've just hated every in-between pad I've run from them.
