longest. day. ever. worked a full 8 hour day at work, drove across the bay bridge to pick up a cherry picker (took 3 hours in traffic - its an hour drive) didnt get to start pullin the motor until 1030ish - managed to lift it off of the motor mounts by 4 AM... it was the first time my friend and I have ever pulled an engine so it was a learning experience... we couldn't get the damn drive shaft undone at the guibo so its still in the car, attached to the lift... comes all the way out next friday - So close I can taste it! haha
might as well throw in that in my sleep deprived hallucigenic state (went to bed at 5, up at 7 to finish before my friend had to leave, but we were too tired) I drove an hour in the wrong direction trying to go a different way to get back to my moms house in VA...
now for a nap - ohhh and pictures will be up monday as promised :)
Put the car in 5th and get a big long breaker bar. Should be able to get the bolts off them. Also, try soaking them in witches piss for a couple hours before you do it.
painted the valve cover today :). It got cracked during transport, so I had to JB weld it anyways, needed a new coat of paint, decided to do something a little different... :) I was going to be neat and tape it off at first, but i decided to give the sprayed look a try - i like how it came out
The patients heart has successfully been removed. :) To do this week:
- Pick up the engine from the machine shop - Honed, head planed, valves lapped, new valve seals.
- Install front coilovers, roll fenders sometime next weekend
- modify and install steering rack
- start working on my wiring harness
- repaint valve cover - apparently it wasnt clean enough, the paint didn't stick well in a couple of places, just gonna sand it down, 409 clean it, then tape it off this time
- paint block
- start putting the m50 together
- sell m42, old rims, forged pistons and now, racing seats. Need to stay within budget, some goodies got to go..
np - ill try and get a picture to you by tomorrow. it blows, i JUST bought the seats two weeks ago, theyre still in my room. They're black no-name seats, but they have custom e36 seat brackets right now... and they only weigh 14 lbs apiece. f*cking light.
