Bahamamomma 2.7i ZF trans. Swap BUILD THREAD

Posting in PNW section just because 😃

    CHASSIS -
    1984 Bahamabeige 318
    -tan cloth interior
    -stock small case 3.91 LSD
    -manual m10 car
    -crank windows/sunroof

FELL IN LOVE WITH THE E30 CHASSIS IN GENERAL ( AND THE BAHAMA IN PARTICULAR ) IMMEDIATELY!!

SO a little literature on the BAHAMAMOMMA!!

June 2013 get kicked outta highschool, sell my lifted boosted 86 subie.
Bought 84 bahambeige 318 slammed on chopped springs.
Noob style m50b25nv + ZF swap that shit.
A year later it runs and drives on whack ass h&r lowering springs hella corny style.
Take it to my first drift event (extremely unprepared) halfway through the day my heater core clogs up , blows my entire cooling system on my feet...
I ripped one of the aluminum pipes off the heater core and bypass my heater core, get a few more laps before it blew blah blah blah.

I AM BUILDING A STREET/ TRACK DRIFT CAR
-so don't give me shit about ruining the Bahamabeige chassis....

Went on this kick like I "want something realiable and lowering springs are stupid if you want to get nasty.... "

    So......
    AFTER e30 nooobin out.
    BMW west side coast knowmsayn.....

    SUSPENSION GAME-

    Bought 6 cyl. Strut housings
    2 1/2" ID 240sx rear springs
GROUND CONTROL camber plates(love everything made by them! Highly recommend all GC!)
    325ix biLstein HD strut inserts

    - I cut approximately 2" out of the strut housings, welded them back together, ground welds down and welded adjuster perches.

Bought IE 25mm front 22mm rear swaybars with billet rear sway mounts
Solid steering guibo (plan to lower my steering column around an inch or so?)
Eibach 750 rear springs (want shorter springs with same rate so I don't have to cut these:/)
    Oem replacement rear shocks

    ENGINE -2.7i-

    Got a free 2.7 block
Bought oem HG, timing belt, water pump etc.
Bought a whole 1990 b25 swap with BHG
    Assembled engine.
So 2.7i all 1990 electronics and cooling system
    CONDOR SPEEDSHOP engine mounts
(ran their 24v swap mounts and transmission mounts and LOVED THEM ! Highly recommend all their UHMW mounts throughout the e30 chassis! All I run!)
Wired early model square plug to late model round plug harness adapter

ZF TRANSMISSION SWAP ON 12 VALVE -

    ZF310 trans ((5 speed e34) same as zf320(e36 328/m3))
    E34/e36 flywheel
    E34/e36 starter
    E36 stage 3 clutch
E36 m3/328 shift linkage, driveshaft, and slave.
Had to trim dust shield a little bit to fit on the 12v. lol
For trans mounts ones bigger than the other to make up for 24v 10* lean
-I used one m20 manual transmission mount and a 24v rubber engine mount shaved a little bit on the outside!

3.91 lsd (gonna go 3.73 welded)

    EXTERIOR/INTERIOR KINDA SHIT -

Sparco racing bucket/RCI 4 point with sparco rails
Built like 2" tall steel angle iron lift kit for my seat mounts lol I'm 5'7" so I'm ridin high
    Kitty print dash cover
    Tucked diving boards
    IS front valance
    Taurus side skirts (not pictured)
Xxr 16x8 +15 idk what #xxrs they are lol
    Oem BMW front mud flaps
    late model rear valance (uninstalled)
Avenue wood grain wheel(cheap AF - don't recommend buying)
    Wine corked antenna hole
    Painted chrome trim black
Accumulated dents since my ownership lol

    WARNING----
If you're building a 2.7i car or has anything to do with what I have experienced, and you have questions, PM or post up a reply I'm happy to give insight and advice TO AN EXTENT! If youre asking me "what you need to do a 24v swap" or " what you need for a 2.7i" or something stupid...... Don't bother. If you can't find something on Google or r3v search.... You will be trolled.

Thanks for checking my bucket out!

          UPDATE ON ZF SWAP
I tried using e36 m3 slave but blew 3 of them out. After confusion and taking measurements, I tried an m20 slave, THATS THE TICKET!!

3.73 and 3.91 are ridiculously short gears for a ZF and a 24v revving to 7200, let alone on an m20 that doesn't flow well up top and isn't worth revving to 7k. 3.46 is probably the most aggressive I'd go on an m20 with a zf.
