WOW. I will definitely be purchasing some brakes here come next fall probably. Thanks a lot.

By the way, AWESOME JOB hooking up all the 4-luggers around the world. These need to go in my E30.

UUC is also making a kit in a similar vane to Lee's Sport kit for a few bucks less but after the research I've done it seems like you get what you pay for. I'm 90% sure I'll pick up one of Lee's kits at some point in '08 but I just have to map out my upgrades a little more so I don't overspend in areas I don't need to.

I don't NEED a BBK by any stretch of the imagination but being a tech I get to drive a lot of cars that are nicer than mine and there is a particular M Coupe that has become my benchmark for my e30. My suspension is there, I just need brakes and power now... :-)

That is a good idea. I should map out my upgrades as well. I feel like I want to do all these things and it gets very overwhelming and VERY expensive in a hurry.

Oh well this is the disease and we have all caught it. I don't want to find a cure.

Yeah, if you don't plan it out you can end up doing the same upgrade multiple times, something I learned the hard way. Plus you have make sure you do things that will be EFFECTIVE and aren't just shiny bolt-ons. There are a lot of things you will never ever see after they've been installed but make a world of difference in the driving experience. It helps to have a good shop to help you along your journey (or in my case, work for a good shop) but with some careful research and a bit of logic you should be fine. Feel free to hit me up if you need an opinion!

Any changes in braking bias needed? Mods to master cylinder or booster (or a different one) needed?

No change in brake bias. Even tested at high speed track events.
No need to change master cylinder.
No need to change the brake booster.

The brake pedal will be much shorter and firmer, even with stock MC.
No need to spend another $150 on a 25mm MC.

Lee, you're an asshole... :p The more pictures you post of your kits the more I WANT ONE! I don't really NEED ONE, but I WANT ONE! Damn you... Hopefully the american dollar turns around a bit by spring...

Nice. Any chance on making an E34 kit?

Maybe I missed it, but are the brackets stainless? Any stress testing on these parts?

Hi BMWPower. Yup, the brackets are stainless steel. As far as stress testing, I haven't been reported any failure on them. Don't worry. They are quite sturdy. Every new generation sees improvements. The latest e30 brackets are way easier to install as they come threaded.

And let's not forget a rear kit is also available. 11.75"x 1.25" (300mm x 32mm) with 4 pistons calipers. The only off-the-shelf kit in the world I think. And as you can see, the stainless brackets are way thicker than the original mounting tabs on the trailing arm.

Hi Ron. I was shipped the parts more than a week ago. But I received rear 120-8383 calipers (1.12" pistons for 0.81" rotors) instead of 120-8382 (1.12" x 1.25" rotors). Still waiting for the replacements. Sorry about he delay. Expecting the parts any day now.

Ouch, that's major cracking on that front rotors of yours.

Yeah the crack was pretty bad. More small cracks around that disc but this was the worst one. The circuit we drove was a pretty much stop and go ( Zolder, Belgium ).

You sent us an email about the delay so no problems, your communication is good, only I thought you sent them to us a few days ago. Just hope that we receive them a few days before the race. There is no driving this way ;).

Hey Tom. In fact, I did receive the parts late. I got parts for two other European customers too (front e21 and front e30 M3). In this shipment that I got late, your calipers were wrong... So, it is not only a one week delay (my supplier was at the Orlando car show), but what was sent was wrong. Talk about double bad luck. But don't worry, it'll be well worth the wait.

(very little grinding on the tabs required)

(BTW, caliper is reversed upside down on the picture)

I consider brakes a styling element. They look cool. AP is cooler than Brembo and also better. Brembo has cashed in on it's name and is even OEM on Chryslers.
The overkill position taken to it's logical conclusion would have us all riding Honda Cubs. I didn't really "need" any of the modifications I've done to this can or any other one that I've owned. I did it because I like them. A short shifter, faster rack, improved suspension, and a stereo that you can't fully appreciate over road noise are all overkill. To the hilt!
