I'm in the process of researching tire options for my e30 and would appreciate some input.
Once complete, it should output 500-600hp in high gears, with boost by gear to drop power in lower gears. The memo to the tuner will be to keep the power as linear as possible, so no massive spike that will fry any set of tires.
The car will see a maximum of 3000 miles per year, won't be driven daily or in the rain (on purpose). Most driving will be club drives, weekend warrior stuff, roll racing and drag racing. I don't live near snow and the car will be garaged.
The goal is to maximise straight line grip - ideally full grip in 3rd gear, but having done some research, if the boost by gear and power delivery is tuned well, I might be able to get some 2nd gear traction too.
Hoping to run a 15x8 +20 wheel and have narrowed the tire selection to the following:
225/45r15 Hankook RS4
225/50r15 Toyo R888R
