    manual trans and driveshaft disaster!

I picked up my 84 325e a few weeks back, i received it with the tranny and the drive shaft in the trunk and all the bolts in a box, I'm in the process of getting road ready but have come to a stop, i have no clue where any of the bolts go, if anyone could help me figure out where they go that would be great!

Came for pics of driveshaft poking through a hole in tunnel.

This is a far cry from a disaster in our household...
When I find myself in your position, which is often, as I don't sort fasteners
when I take things apart, is first, sort by diameter.
If it doesn't fit the threads, it's not meant to go there.

Then, length- BMW is very consistent in their engagement length,
and it's usually about 2 diameters of the fastener. If you're off, it'll
either be very much too long, or just engage by a turn or 2.
It should go in at least 8 revolutions, often about 10.
It's way easier to sort things like transmission bolts out with the
trans out, on the floor, in advance.

      How I do it,

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves
