I'd like to sell my '91 318is. We just bought a new truck and don't need three cars. I was going to sell my '86 Toyota truck but I think Ill sell the BMW instead. Anyways...
Right off the bat I am located in Edmonds WA, and I want $3,500 for the car. I over payed for this car at $4,500 and Iv done a good amount of work on the car since I bought it. I think its a fair price. Just need it gone and want the spend the money on our new truck.
Quick overview of the car mechanically the car is sound. Only annoying mechanical issue is gauge cluster. Speedo stops working some times and needs a tap to get it going, and the temp gauge jumps around.
I've addressed the m42 mess under the intake with the appropriate vac deletes and new vacuum and coolant lines. M42 has a new fan clutch and belts, new coolant expansion tank and upper hose, new TPS, K&N drop in filter, and one or two other small things. The m42 ran rough when I got it, but the idle is nice and smooth now. I used BMW coolant when I did the expansion tank. I'v done one oil change and she is about ready for another.
I also rebuilt all the locks and the central locking works great now.
Car needs cosmetic help. It has a good amount of scratches, stains, and fading paint. No rust. Dent on passenger side front corner right by the headlight from PO. I checked all the seams and panels and it must have been a very light impact because there was no damage to anything other than the fender and plastic grill. The car has no leaks. I fixed all the leaks around the trunk, tail lights and so forth.
Cloth sport seats are torn up, but all the foam is still in good shape. Good candidates for a rebuild.
Dash has two small cracks.
Car will come with some new bushings I never installed, new drive shaft bearing, original open diff, some other odds and ends, and a set of Yakima roof bars/towers.
Things I've added or fixed.
Lighting and body
-Depo smileys with HID highs and lows as well as amber LED running lights
-Depo clear parking lights with amber running lights and clear turn lights
-New fog light glass and bulbs with clear plastic adhesive film for protection
-Clear and red side markers
-New front windshield and gasket (no cracks or chips at all)
-eBay IS lip made of some flexible plastic so you don't constantly brake IS lips
-New trunk and hood emblems
Suspension and Drive line:
-CaTuned coil overs with front camber plates
-New brake pads and rotors
-Sub frame, engine, trans, and rear control arm bushings (Iv got some UHMW M3 offset front control arm bushings I never installed that will come with the car)
-Welded front and rear sub frame reinforcements
-Welded rear caster and camber eccentric type adjusters
-4:10 LSD
Audio:
-original BMW speakers up front
-Pioneer TS-G1345R 5-1/4" 2-Way Speakers rear
-Pioneer MVH-x390BT digital media receiver (No CD slot) with hands free calling
I painted the wheels white. Maybe its not for you but I think it looks good. It would be very easy to paint them the original metallic color again. Duplicolor makes a wheel specific paint in dark silver that looks amazingly close to the original color.
Come take her for a test drive. Would make a good project car or daily driver. Iv been using the car to drive to work for a year and its great for that. The coil overs are not any rougher then Bilstein HD struts and sport springs.
I am available weekdays after work around 5:30 or weekends any time. Or you can meet me for lunch in South Park (south Seattle) on weekdays. Ill be leaving on a work trip for three weeks on the 17th, so I wont be around to show the car during that time.
txt or call me at four1five-six0nine-nine8zero0
Im not on R3V much these days so my phone is the best way to reach me.
Ill make sure the car is vacuumed and washed before anyone comes and looks at it.
