    Project TougE30

When I grew up, I was introduced into the Japanese car culture alongside drivers like Tsuchiya and Orido who captured my attention through the touge. Every day, I would see my inner circle of friends or just a stranger on the road enjoying their car. One day this year, I decided to take a leap of faith by asking my friend/forum member yahh about an idea of me taking over his shell since his drivetrain was sold. 10 minutes later, I became a proud owner of a 1986 BMW 3 series which I could never see myself driving until seeing it perform. He worked out a deal for me which helped me greatly due to being a college student.

    Update

    4/23/14
My next predicament was determining what engine to drop into the e30 for the time being. I really wanted to source another s50b30, but it would break my budget badly. So yahh suggested using his old eta motor since it was just sitting around. This led to researching what could be done to an m20b27.

    4/27/14
I picked up an clean 885 head from a buddy for an awesome deal. 2.7i stroker is a go! Yahh hooked me up with some I parts he had lying around.

    5/9/14
I picked up a 3.73 lsd from my local pick and pull for 40$! It was in great condition and pulled from what seemed to be a turner sponsored car. No weird noises ftw! Also scored a 19mm racing dynamic swaybar with accessories, rear glass, and some old kmac front camber plates for a buddy. Front brembo blanks purchased for great price in a group buy through Rock Auto.

Last one for today, I promise.

      5/30/14
After looking at parts while in class. I made another purchase from yahh since he had a piece that was too good to pass up. One of my favorite aesthetics of his e30.

Scored a Sparco Sprint and Momo Corse for under 100$,but sold the sparco a few weeks after due to lack of daily driver practical. I picked up something to replaced it though.

You're in VA? I'd be pretty scared to be running out there and end up getting thrown in jail or something.

It is scary especially applying to medical school soon, but I kind of know the time and place to run. Gotta have a stress reliever.

Parts on parts on parts. More coming

Well, more parts came in and some dollars are gone. I ordered some gaskets, water pump, thermostat, gates timing belt, rebuilt 17 lb injectors and tensioner. A few more things will be on the way to get this car rolling. Brakes are being rebuilt as we speak.

Update due since it's been a while

The e30 has been sitting for a little bit, but still placing orders. I'm gonna get various parts prepped for paint and assembled, so putting the m20 together goes smoothly. While making my parts needed list, the nuts and bolts missing are gonna break bank haha (hopefully not). Spring break has just ended for me, and a buddy's car is up and running.
