rolling the car around without rear half shafts installed

Anyone out there have opinion/info on rolling a chassis around without the rear half shafts installed? I need to send the car to get caged (my sched slot came up) and am not quite ready to put diff back in yet.

Wondering if not having the half shafts in will be a problem rolling it on off trailer and in garage.

It won't be a problem at all, in fact it'll be easier to push if anything. Tape up (or somehow protect) the hub area that's usually protected by the axle shaft to prevent damage.

We did this thread a few years back.

The condensed version is that it might be ok,
but the rear hubs are held into the trailing arms by the axle.

So the wheels may fall off.

Not tragic in the shop, but
could be messy if it happened while
you were towing it to or from the shop
      on your open trailer...

Getting the hubs out is no joke in my experience, so for just sitting or rolling around the driveway or shop there will be no issue. Plus, if the brakes are installed, the hubs aren't going anywhere.

zip tie them up around the shaft to make them level again and that it rolls freely.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
