isn't there some sort of Craigslist style "flagging" system, where if enough users report the post, it goes away?
not trying to take anything away from the moderators, just wondering if perhaps there's an easier way to solve this?

A decent amount of spam has been accumulating in the megasquirt/alt tuning subforum since monday.

Is it getting worse? I can say I'm tired of flagging the crap.

Alternative Tuning / W.A.R / Megasquirt / etc is swamped with spam threads. 15/20 are robo spam on the first page alone.

We should have an intro/bio forum where we can accept new members, or flag them.

AKA, write a sentence about why you want to join R3v. Have it in a forum where anyone already registered on r3v can click a link and activate the new member. If they are spam, we can flag it.

I doubt a spammer will write a coherent sentence about e30's.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.
