It's been a while. Time for a small update :D

          In order to sound proof the cabin I used this stuff. ( and had a danish x-mas brew:D ) It's an heavy asphalt mat, normaly used for fixing roofs. It's a lot cheaper than something like fex Dynamat. Turned out like this..

          So now going from this

          To this ;

          The bay is painted now, turned out very nice. I'll promice to get some pics up very soon.

              I'm now ready to put the engine gearbox back in. The gearbox I had in the car was getting noisy, so I had to get another one. The same with the trans-axel and a lot of other small things, so I picked up this as a parts car.

              http://

              `88 325I manual trans. It's in very good condition, and complete. Only thing wrong with it is this;

              http://

              Weel in the "wrong" side and smuldered dashbord. Useless anyway with the steringweel in the right side.

              Engine and gearbox, drive-train is perfect. Rear sub-chassis with disc-brakes, and exhaust etc etc also in good condition. I'll rip it apart quickly, so I can get on with the BAUR.

              http://

              http://

              Moving slow but moving farward. :p:p

                  Thanks Corvallis.:D I'm very pleased with the color myself. Ofcourse I'll post more pictures as I get things done.
                  Right now I'm "harvesting" the things I want from the parts car. I need to get it out of the way asap, so untill that is done there won't be much progress on the BAUR.

                  Thanks for wathing.;)

                        Hi again. It's been a while, time for an update. I "harvested" the stuff I needed from the parts-car, and it is now gone on to the afterlife ( well..the scrap yard ). So, having the things I needed, I turned my attension to the BAUR again.

                        I did a few changes to the harnes, in an atempt to keep the bay clean. I prolonged the wires for the reles, so that they will fit next to the cpu under the glove box. I also changed the position of the diagnosis plug,so now it locates where the c-101 normaly is.
                        http://

                        I made a new bracket for the power steering oil-bottle-thingy, now it tucks in next to the dipstick,airbox. A lot cleaner looking then having it sit on the shock tower.

                        Next, i plased the ign.coil under the exhaust manifolds. Again in a attempt to keep the bay nice and tidy. To prevent heating problems, I'v made a small heat shield, it should be enugh to protect it from the exhaust. ( I hope) I run the HT-wire for the coil inside a fuel-hose, held in place by a few small brackets I made, together with the wire for the oil-presure switch. The other wires for the coil will also be protected inside a fuel-hose. Hopefully it will al be enugh to prevent problems.

                        On my way throug the harness i found this. Some people should not be alowed to work on cars, or even be in possesion of tools.Needless to say it is all fixed now.

                        Last shot of the wirieng carnage, moving on...

                        Last thing to get done before the engine went back in, was to get the brake lines back in place. The ABS-system is gone, so the lines are redone and fitted.

                        Ready to go back in,

                        Not the best shot, but you can see my little helper in the corner :D

                        A bit off brute viking-power, I got the engine/gearbox in posision under the car.

                        And finaly,it was time to reassemble the front suspention and steering. It was very hard to get the CAB's back on. It must have been because of the thick powder coating. Eventualy it went back on with the help of an old carpintor press thingy:nice:

                        The rest of it went painless

                        And this brings us up to where it is today. Hopfully I will be able to do some more work on it soon. Coments and sugestions are welcome. Thankx for watching. :p

                          It's been a looooog time since I updated this. I'v been working on it little by little when work and other commitments alowed me to. The car is almost ready for the paint-shop now, I'm really exited to move this along So...the engine is back in, and it started without to much trubble.

                          I was never happy with the look of the front/ valence of the car. It looked sort of messy, I wanted to do something in order to clean it up. This is how it looked when I started this project;

                          [/IMG]

                          I think that the facelifted valence is better looking, and I had one from the parts-car witch I wanted to fit. I wanted to keep the chrome bumpers, so some modifications had to be made to the facelifted valence in order to make it work. The plastic bumpers are wider than the chrom bumpers, if you put the chrom bumpers over the facelifted valence, there is a 2-3 cm gap from the lamps to the bumper:down: That looks like crap, my solution to that was to use the top part of the old valence and pair it to the lower part of the facelifted valence. :up:
                          [IMG][/IMG]
                          I closed the holes for the fog-lights, and some of the vent holes, in an effort to clean up the look of the front.
