Stopped by the shop today to see how the progress was coming along.

Painted my suspension parts today.. And also picked up a new rear seat because that's the only one that has tears in it. Here are some pics.

Not much news.
I called the paint shop and they shooting for finishing the car at the end of next week!
It won't be done by the picnic sadly, but I can't wait to get her back.

Well some bad news, its been a month and a half and my car is just sanded down..
I guess thats what you get for getting a hookup with a friend of yours. He told me a few days ago that he will get it done asap, so i might give him a week or two more, until i take the car and money back, or start getting lawyers involved. I hate driving by the shop and seeing my car still outside just sanded down-_-
ON a side note i went out and bought some speakers today since the rears were blown, so i just bought all four new ones. They arnt the best but they the only ones that are identical size to what was in there.

The paint guy has flaked out, and i am not the only person he took "half payment" up front to cover materials cost. But the car is just sanded down nothing has been done to it. Next week i am thinking about picking up the car and taking my losses, saving up some more money and going somewhere else. or even trying to spray it myself? Sorry for the lack of updates, things just have not been going to well.

I made the guy sign a contract saying he will have it finished by next monday, if he doesnt then i have legit proof that he hasnt done my car, and i will be taking him to court.
no this car isnt going anywhere it will be done, but in a longer time period if things do not work out. Not giving up just yet!

Things are turning around. Long story short I got a guy to do it(the owner of the shop, that the other body guy was renting) but he felt really bad so he got another painter and is going to do the car for me. It should be done next week. He already installed the new top, and he have me a really good deal on it because of this little hassle. So here are some pics.

Hey guys, ill post pics up in a bit.. but i got the car back. After three months of sitting there nothing has really been done. I took it home last night and decided i will do everything myself gradually. Something personal happened a week ago, so i dont even want to look at the car right now. But in the meantime i will be ordering a couple of things here and there, and then hammering down on it. The way ting turned out between all the shops i went to, this car... i already dont like it. But i still want the finished product so i will keep on going.

I had to put the tail lights and the mirrors in real quick so I can drive it home.


Painted the battery tray, it was really dirty, and the only place that has/had rust on the car.

In with the new. Finally getting some work done on her! Took it around the block and already feels a bit better. Now for the rack and rear end one of these days..

i fount this for a pretty good deal. Ended up picking it up today, and hopefully starting the tear down soon. before i pull the good ole m20 out, i need to drive it to get the support pulled out a little bit, so in the mean time ill be resealing the m60... whoa thats expensive. lol




This shall be fun..
I bought franks swap guide, and going to pick up a welder one of these days. As well as start collecting parts for the swap. I want to get the car running before i do anything to paint or body(other then support). I will keep this informed for my personal build journal. So sorry if its kinda boring or lack of updates.

So big update. Decided to go with a 420g trans. Found one for a pretty good deal in Cali, and my friend just brought it here to portland. Now I can finally do a compression test, even tho the engine is cold.. I should still be able to tell see if the cylinders are good.
But need to go buy some bolts tomorrow to mount the trans.
Will have compression numbers in a few days. Let's hope I can get started on this thing, and it all checks out.
