    Burbank/Glendale area mechanics

Suggestions? My E30 went to a buyer down there and I'd like to point him to a list of places he can use to keep the car in shape. Thanks.

It is, sure. But good work is worth a 30 minute drive. :)

I've passed the info to the new owner. He's using a local shop called Ikonic near his home.

That’s in Los Felix/Silver Lake. I stopped there for a quote once and had a good vibe about them. There were a bunch of older BMWs they were working on.

Anyone else know this Ikonic shop? They told the buyer they couldn't trace the minor oil leak (fair, but they wanted to "detail the engine"), sold him a rear diff seal which was not needed unless it magically sprang a leak, and some other work IMO not needed. I'm kind of ticked off actually if the new owner is getting shafted.

Stories like this are exactly why we expanded BimmerHeads in to a full service shop. :)

                  ^^

x1000. This guy could have saved himself a headache. Hopefully he's learned a lesson.

Just had a very bad experience w this place. Communication horrible , had my car for 4 months , never updated me on status ( I called every week for 11 weeks. They ran into issues with transmission and had to call in a specialist which took 3 months.

Got my car back and was told diff was shot , drove it home (I live out of town) and they forgot to tighten the axle nut and car sounded like it was going to explode.

I’ve sent them an email and a video of the wheel wobble and heard nothing back.

Hate to slander a shop but they have no interest in owning their mistake or trying to make it right.

I don’t think they want to work on e30s anymore and based on my experience , they shouldn’t.

M Shop in Glassell Park all day. I don’t let anyone except Joe and his team work on my car. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either, service is second to none. Can’t recommend highly enough. Only downside is getting an appointment, they book up fairly far in advance.

Heard great stuff about Bimmerheads. Used to be in La Crescenta, did you move to SCV?

Thank you. We expanded our operation about a year ago and opened a full service shop in Santa Clarita. We maintain, modify, repair, rebuild, and restore Classic BMWs. We maintain the newer stuff too. :)
