When I was a teen and thought I wanted to be a hax0r I wanted a name that had no connection to my real identity. A lot of warez and other pirate groups used the XaaaaaaX format for naming themselves, where "a" was their choice of name. I also wanted it to be fast and easy to type. Since "c" and "v" are next to "x" I chose XcvX.

But I never learned much about malicious computer use and was able to purchase games and apps as I needed them, so didn't really implement it for it's original purpose.

Mine is just an old gamer tag. Played with a group for a long time in Joint Ops that originally tagged ourselves in game as Rogue-(player name). My name was Toaster as I really enjoyed flying or driving in to enemy positions with satchel charges on the vehicle, which would elicit "toasted" comments from a couple of team mates.

We changed team names, and I went back to my old handle "Nelson" when we got more serious, but I'd already registered on few forums as roguetoaster, so that stayed.

Loved the book "It". Ben Hanscom was my dude. Everyone called him Haystack, as a fat dude who was once a fat kid, Haystack's my name.

Played a lot of need4speed as a kid, wanted to get the nd4spd vanity plate for my first car when I got it, but Rhode Island wouldn’t let you mix numbers into the middle of the letters. I went with spdfrk instead, and got pulled over about 35 minutes after getting it for driving too fast. Kept the plate anyways, got known for it around town, adapted it for different forums.

Yuppies started buying BMWs in the e21 era, I had already owned my 2002 for 4 years by then. We only get 7 digits for our license plates so PREYUPY
