It really is unfortunate one isn't available for the IX. Where to attach the plate at the back is an issue though, since the subframe sits in the front.

This thing is seriously tough, I hopped a curb at 50ish and my oil pan didn't even get hurt at all. The car is totaled but the oil pan is safe

Will the m30 version fit with an m20?

Going to be m30b35 swapping, but it only has m20 right now... but I just installed Ground Controls.

Thanks!

the ix pan sits behind the front subframe anyway so its mostly protected unlike the rwd e30s. You'd have to offroading and come down directly on it with a rock or something to get past the front subframe, the differential and ultimately the oil pan.

I'm not sure it needs one but I want to get one anyway.

Also we should get a heat sheid made for the p/s axle. That would be huge!

The m30 version is the same except it is 10mm lower than the m20. So if you want maximum ground clearance now, get the m20 and space it down later or get the m30 version to protect both engines without mods.

Thanks, Chris and Matt! I would love to get a hold of an IX for a couple days.

We may need to start another discussion. What is needed/wanted out of a IX skid plate?

Any news on the IX skid plate? I too want one that covers the entire oil pan. And yes, I am off-roading.
