Being close to Wuerzburg allows you access to high speed rail(ICE) very easily. You're going to be able to access many things, including Munich's Octoberfest in September.
I suggest going to Stuttgart for the Mercedez-Benz museum (which can be an all-day thing) and the Porsche museum (probably about 2 hour tour taking your time). The Audi factory outside Heilbronn(Neckarsulm) has tours as well, and you can get there on one of the best stretches of de-limited autobahn.
The Wuerzburg residence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C3%BCrzburg_Residence) is also interesting, even if you're not particularly well-versed in art and such. It's a common tourist attraction.
If you have an open mind you will also enjoy the day to day life of Germany.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

I was just stationed in Schweinfurt, but the base is offically closing at the end of the month. Schweinfurt is a nice place, every other saturday i think it is a traveling car show called street culture sets up at the XXXL store next to the BMW dealership. Your 2hrs from frankfurt, 45mins to Wurzburg, 3-4hrs to Munich, 3-4hrs to the Nurnburgring, 90mins to Nuremburg (2 different places). As far as what to do in town, theres a indoor go kart track, bowling alley might still be some outdoor concerts going on, go to all the places i just mentioned, if you are there in Sept they are having the official Army base closing ceremony i think its the 19th?
