    ix lowering springs

I am reading that I would have to buy ix specific springs if I want to lower my ix. Is this true, and if yes, what would be the reason for this requirement on the ix?
    thanks for any help.
I am thinking about h/r lowering springs; or maybe going coilover. I realize the coilovers are much more involved.
    thanks,

As far as I know you can throw on normal H&R sports and you'll be fine.

      thanks

Ok, for some reason I thought the strut towers were different in the front? Maybe not.
      thanks,
      now to find a set:)

          iX lowering springs

Yup, just ordered mine from Tire Rack. I'm running them on Bilsteins.

Here's what you can expect it to look like (ignore the rust and missing pieces :D)

My old ix sedan came fitted with e36m3 springs in the rear and e28 535is springs in the front, paired with Bilstein HD's. I did not like the wheel gap that was left upfront, guess it was the cheaper option for the PO.

              thanks

Will do a bit more reading and see which way to go on these springs.
thanks for the replies. Might just go with coilovers.

The suspension geometry is completely different on the iX, and has different strut and spring sizes than a normal e30. While standard e30 springs may fit, they will affect the car differently than intended. Make sure whatever you get has been specifically tried out on an iX and fits the way you want it to.
