the plastic thing that clips onto the radiator that goes over the fan (shroud?) its broken and i hear my fan hitting it! will it hurt my car if i remove it?

Well the shroud you mean right? The only thing it does is help direct Airflow by sucking the air. if I were you I would get a new one or fix it. I wouldnt think though that removing it would be all that bad but it might tend to run hotter. It really only helps you intraffic when going slow I've been told.
