Possible Variable TPS issue in Megasquirt

I have an E36 throttle position sensor wired into my E30 wiring harness. At closed throttle, Megasquirt reads 0%, and at wide open, it reads 100%.
The problem is that when I hit the gas pedal, it doesn't go through the whole range to get there. It might read no change, then all of a sudden 30%, then no change until 70%, then no change until 100%. However, when I let off the pedal, it reads pretty much every percent until it goes back to 0%.
    Is this an issue?

It will be hard to setup accel enrichment and other tables based on TPS. I would investigate further if you are interesting in having a TPS for these types of functions. If you simply want flood clear to function, don't worry about it.

I don't know much about E36 TPSs, but I would confirm with a multimeter that you have the right pins wired to megasquirt

I would guess the potentiometer in it is broken. Grab another sensor? It should move smoothly.

Mine did this when it took a shit. Get a new TPS. Car would always die at a stop as well.

Ended up getting it tuned with no problem. Sensor was new/OEM from the dealer, and just in case I had it replaced with another new OEM one.

Tuned using alpha-N due to ITBs.
