Photoshop/illustrator assistance, new logo

I'm growing tired of my current logo for my detailing business and want something more sleek.

This car outline is what i want to make, kind of like this one:


What is the best way to make an outline like that? I drew it out on paper, and scanned it into my computer, but it doesn't look good and I don't know how to fix it. Should I start with the original image on my computer and make it from there? What should I do!

I can provide the images of my logo/what I tried to make if anyone is interested.

Take your scanned image into Illustrator as the template and use the pen tool to create a vector image and smooth it out. Save that vector as your new master and play with it to your hearts content until you have something you are happy with.
