Precisely. Worst MY for the E39 M5.

      Cool car though.

I'm not a vert fan, but I'm digging this whip.

In other news, the 88 Bronzit 'is' is currently sitting at $14K. That's more than I thought it would end for.

I'm sure the low mileage is driving the bids.

A tad late here. Loved my 2001 M5 but what a maintenance nightmare. $1013 for pads and rotors all around. Um no.

I was thinking the same, then looked up the parts cost 0.o Not out of the norm for a shop to do it at ~$1k.

Agreed and brakes are so easy to change on pretty much any E chassis

Ok, I'll bite. I'm not into the 5 or 7 series. What's the issue with a 2000 vs later?

Tails, headlights, some interior bits and I think some mechanical bits.

The cosmetic stuff really makes a big difference IMO

early e39s are not the best looking

^ Yep - additionally off the top of my head:

                              Rectangular fogs vs round
                              Yellow markers vs clear
Yellow rear turn signals vs clear
                              M52TU vs M54 for I6 models

                              Minor HVAC control differences
